We are really excited about the innovative and progressive ideas the "Scaffolding Association" have for moving the industry forward.

We have signed on the dotted line and become members for two reasons:

a) We would like to help and assist the association, in any way we can, with our knowledge, links to academic institutions and with our rivaled passion for development (especially in the engineering sector - as this is our forte) to move the industry forward and; b) to show our support for fair competition of 'membership bodies' in our industry. The ideas are really exciting and hope that we can help and assist the association in some of these through links with universities and other academic institutions.

We are currently showing our support by providing the scaffolding association with research on "the History of Scaffolding" carried out by Ryan Berry (Managing Director and Principal Engineer of Creator) as part of his 130,000 word Masters Dissertation on - "The Application of Limit State Design to Temporary Works". Some of you may wonder: Q - Why is the history of scaffolding important to the application of limit state design? A - History may seem like a thing of the past but it is what has lead us to where we are today, and what enables to develop and move on into uncharted territory.

The scaffolding association will be releasing more of the history in each e-newsletter so stay tuned. (Excerpt as a pdf - just press download below)

We are very interested in the prospect of the Scaffolding Association becoming a part of that history.
